My Thrift Store Clothing Haul, Part 1

Every Tuesday afternoon my daughters and I spend time doing something fun together. We were thinking of an enjoyable activity to do and the idea of going to the thrift store came up. I had heard about a great thrift store with a large selection of clothes right near where we’d be anyhow, and my girls were eager to check it out, since they both needed new clothes that fit them and we hadn’t had so much success in regular stores when we’d looked lately.

I didn’t have much hope of finding anything for myself because I’m a larger size, and it’s hard enough to find clothes in my size in a regular clothing store, let alone a thrift shop, but I was still optimistic I’d be able to find at least a few nice pieces of clothing to change up the usual black and boring colors I tended to wear, as well as some replacements, especially since a lot of my clothing was getting threadbare and thin.

I was happily surprised when I got there and saw that the racks were divided up by size, so I didn’t need to hunt through everything in the hopes of finding something that would fit me, but instead was able to go through the selection of clothes that was approximately my size and narrow down my choices from there.

I ended up getting quite a haul of clothing that I really love, most really colorful and fun, all fitting my beautifully. And everything was between the price of $2.85 and $11.50, with most being around $8.50 per item. My girls also got a lot of items, but since I didn’t want this post to be too picture heavy, that will be for another post.

I got these two skirts, a knee length khaki straight skirt, and an ankle length A line leopard print skirt, as well as a really cute black, purple, grey and white knee length dress.

I got these 4 shirts, a grey wrap shirt, a navy wrap shirt, a floral black and white shirt, and a silver and black sparkly dress shirt.

I also got these 6 shirts, 2 leopard print shirts, one zip up and one a wrap shirt, a royal blue shirt with a tie on it, a dark pink long sleeve T shirt, a red tied empire waisted shirt, and an asymmetrical black and red shirt.

In addition to the clothing, I got some really cute costume jewelry statement pieces for $2.75 each.

I got these 4 necklaces…

As well as these 6 pairs of earrings…

All in all, I’m very happy with my haul. Now I just need to go through my clothing and take out the clothes I no longer wear and what is threadbare so I have room to put away my new clothes.

The shop total wasn’t super cheap; I ended up spending a lot of money at the store, but for the amount of clothing I got, it was a real bargain.

Do you go thrift shopping for clothing? How much do clothes cost at the thrift store when you buy them? Which of the items that I bought would you wear?
