After my recent post about my fears about not doing well in university as a disabled single mom learning in a language that is not my mother tongue, I got some good news that might not be deserving of a whole post on its own, but I’m excited, and this is my blog, and I’m allowed to have short posts too.
First of all, I got back my final grade for my exam from last semester that I had to redo since my first exam I’d sent the wrong document in and got a zero. It terrified me since it had been a few months since I took that course and there was a time limit- I still hadn’t gotten an extension for my tests as I have now because of my disabilities…
Well, I got an 88 on that final exam, and since on my assignments in the course I got an 85 and an 86 my final grade in the class was also an 88.
I need to get at least an average of a 90 to be able to transfer to the university program I’d like to get into, but getting an 88 means that I don’t need to get that high of a grade to average above a 90.
Then I got back my grade from our first assignment from social psychology, a class that I was really struggling with because of the language. I ended up getting notes from someone else and just paying attention in the class so I could give it my full attention so the language doesn’t trip me up as much.
I got a 94.
A lot of people in the class whatsapp group got a much lower grade and asked for people with high grades to share what they did so they could learn from theirs how to do better on the next assignment.
The fact that I could share my assignment because I got a “high grade” is such a good feeling, makes me feel like I might actually have a chance here.
(Now I just need to get a good grade on statistics…. Don’t get me started there…)
Just wanted to share the good news with you.
Thanks for being my cheerleaders.
It means a lot to me.
