Frugal Accomplishments This Week

Every week when I write up my frugal accomplishements for the week I say "Oh I didn't do anything frugal this week, my list is skimpy" and then I actually write it up and see how long it is.

But this week, it really is quite a sorry looking list. My week was busy and I didn't have time to do many frugal things. Or the few frugal things that I did took up much of my time. Namely the Ikea building.

Here are the few frugal things I did do:

Build Ikea furniture on my own. When wooden dowels broke when I was putting together a really large item, I figured out how to salvage it, and replaced the dowels with metal bits that I got super super cheaply from the hardware store, and he cut to size for me for free.

I borrowed a drill to build my furniture instead of spending money on a drill now.

I was out and hungry, so stopped in the scratch and dent store to buy myself something to eat.

Bought clothes and a coat from an outlet store, at rock bottom prices and amazing quality.

Made homemade popsicles.

Picked sage from my garden.

Organized and decluttered my pantry so I could find what I have to use it instead of spending money to buy new because I can't find what I already have.

What frugal things did you get up to this week? Do you feel guilty when you have weeks that are less frugal?

  1. Glad to hear the garden is still going strong. Kudos on the IKEA building. I won't even attempt it.

I killed it at LIDL this week. I had a coupon for fresh meat for 20% off and on sale. Picked up a steak, chicken tenders and a pork loin for under $20. Plus I saved $10 off my total order with an additional coupon. Now I have enough meat for 2 steak dinners, 12 chicken dinners and 5 pork dinners.

  2. Doing something is better than doing nothing so and reading about your accomplishments, to me, shows this is not a "sorry looking list" at all. Be proud of any achievement, never belittle even the smallest of your frugal savings, after all that's one reason we enjoy your posts! As they say, "You go girl!"
