My Recent Frugal Accomplishments

I am proud of myself, because after a recent “slump” in which I wasn’t as frugal as I’d like to be, I recently did a lot of frugal things that I’m excited to share with you in this post. I like collecting a list of these frugal things because then when I think I’m a frugal failure I remind myself to look over this list and see that I did accomplish a lot of worthy things in the frugal sphere.

Foraging

  • Foraged oatstraw to make a tasty and nutritious tea.
  • Foraged mint and rosemary to make a medicinal tea for someone feeling under the weather.

Gardening

  • Picked loquats from my loquat tree.

Frugal Shopping

  • Went to the thrift store and bought a lot of cheap clothes.
  • Ordered extremely cheap jewelry from Aliexpress.
  • Ordered extremely cheap bone conduction swimming headphones from Aliexpress.
  • Ordered cheap clothing from Shein.
  • Needed ethernet cables and price compared to find the cheapest store and the cheapest item so I knew what to get before even going inside.
  • Got a new pipe for my bidet instead of replacing the whole thing when the old pipe got a hole in it, and price compared to get the cheapest good quality one.
  • Stocked up on a bunch of groceries on an extreme sale at a nearby grocery store.
  • Bought a set of terrific knives at an extreme discount.
  • Bought some stuff at a scratch and dent store.
  • When I bought something and found that I already had it at home, I went back to the store and returned it instead of being lazy and holding on to it.

Free Things

  • Helped a friend with a cleaning job of an apartment after someone moved out and came home with a bunch of free things, including food, sheets, clothes, candles, and other odds and ends.

DIY

  • Gave my son a haircut.
  • Gave myself more blonde highlights.
  • Replaced the bidet pipe in my bathroom myself, including using extra gaskets and silicon when it was leaking at first, instead of calling a professional to fix it.
  • Replaced the broken locking mechanism and handle of my bathroom door myself with the help of a friend.
  • Replaced a broken toilet seat with the help of a friend.

I’m really proud of myself. This is quite a list. Have you done any frugal things lately that you are proud of?
